ALUMINIUM DIE-CUT LIDS
INTRODUCTION
Aluminium can provide the important advantage of providing a total barrier against water vapour and oxygen transmission, as well as light and aroma. This makes it an ideal choice for sensitive and extended shelf life products. Another benefit of aluminium pre-cut lids over PET is that they seal within a broad temperature range and do not require as precise temperature control of the heat-seal heads.
Depending on your requirement, we use soft or half-hard aluminium alloys. We also have special lacquers where the product requires an extended shelf-life or are PVC-free.
We have a number of embossing cylinders to make your product stand out from the crowd. These include the straight forward pin-dot format through to a highly patterned grub embossing effect.

Q-Lid ALUMINUM CO-EX
Our Co-Ex Aluminium lids have a thick layer of extruded polypropylene lacquer are used for sealing cups containing products which, due to their life cycle, must be pasteurised. Alternatively Q-Lid ALU Co-Ex lids are used in situations where an extremely strong seal is required or where the packaged product has a high fat content or contains spices. This type of lid is also used where the packaged product is aggressive in nature and would cause rust spots on normal lacquered die-cut lids. Depending on the thickness of aluminium used, the lid can be moulded creating a tiered effect (top hat). This can be very effective for packing products that are hot filled. As the product cools the air inside the pot expands pushing the lid so that it lies flat.
Q-Lid ALU Co-Ex seals extremely well to PP, PE and PE lined paper it forms a strong, smooth peelable bond. This material is chillable, ovenable and resistance to the effects of freezing. It is capable of sealing through contaminated pots containing vegetable oils due to its hot-tack characteristics.
